You guys aren't confusing the Netherworld with the Secret Goddess Temples from Aphrodite's Banquet are you? I've only been playing since the first run of the Banquet, but any time I've entered the Netherworld, I always get kicked back to the quests once I run into a random player battle, even before this current event.
Furthest Ive been is Level 16.. still no card. Anyone managed to get one?
As JScathach stated above, the Netherworld is working as intended. Even before Aphrodite's Banquest, encountering another Darklord in the Netherworld kicked you out whether you won or lost; it's only in the Goddess Temples during the banquet you could continue after defeating another Darklord.
I myself have been lucky enough to stumble upon Harpy and Astaroth; still no luck with Empusa, though. I am unaware of how to nab images and such from my device, but if someone else can do that for Harpy I can fill in the blanks.
Not sure if I am correct but the mechanic in Netherworld seems goes like this:
-Player Darklord may appear randomly in any level. You only get the spoils from soul you collected if win. They are annonying and combo breaker.
-If player Darklord didnt appear, you can go to "your deepest level" where you will fight NPC boss (non-Darklord) and reward with rare card if win + collected soul. And the maximum level you can proceed in Netherworld will increase by 1.
i.e. you encounter NPC boss on floor 14, after you win you can proceed Netherworld until level 15, at which you will encounter another NPC boss and if win you get to go until floor 16, and so on. If boss is darklord, the maximum level wont increase even if you win.
-If you lose NPC boss battle the maximum level you can go will decrease by 1, but if lose in darklord battle nothing happens aside from losing all the soul.
-I found Astaroth around floor 18-24 from current Netherworld Delirium. As for Empusa no luck until floor 26 but I managed to get 3 of her from past Delirium floor 18 ish. The drop rate seems lowered from last delirium event.
-My tips for quickly rack up "maximum Netherworld level" is spam quest in chapter 2 because they cost the lowest stamina. Once your maximum Netherworld level are 20 above you can start trying your luck in Chapter 5 Netherworld. Hope this help!
Any idea if the chance to find SR/UR cards is higher at higher stages, or if stage 5 is the same as any other stage?
I have a strong feeling the odds will be the same. If I wasn't still trying to clear all 20 chapters I'd test it out, but as it stands, I'm almost at Chapter 20 and I really want to finish the quests list.
I was wondering why so many people had Empusa; I suppose she was pretty common in past Delirium(s)?

Tried the tip but never got past Level 5 of Netherworld (3 times).
Did you beat the netherworld boss (and get a rare card as a gift) or did you just beat some other darklord? Whether or not you make it to the boss without being interrupted by a darklord is all up to luck, and you can't go to any higher floors without beating the boss.
I meant I entered Netherworld three times in Chapter 2 but never got pass Level 5. Ends up meeting darklords. But got lucky on the 4th try. Managed to get to Netherworld boss at level 19. Will try Chapter 5 now.
